Martin “Kim” Werner, 65 of Ida, MI, died Saturday, February 15, 2014 in Kingston Residence of Sylvania after a 38 year courageous determined battle with MS.  Born, August 14, 1948 in Toledo, OH, he was the son of Martin H. and Eileen (Kinney) Werner.  He married Peggy L. Pierce on March 1, 1969.  Kim was employed as an electrical engineer for S.S.O.E. for 20 years, retiring in 1996.  He was a member of East Ida Immanuel Lutheran Church in Ida, MI. Kim enjoyed hunting, golfing, and woodworking.  He was a loyal Detroit Tiger fan and was a lifetime member of Canvasback Gun Club in Monroe, MI. Kim was a devoted husband and father, always putting his family first. Kim loved coaching his sons in baseball even when he struggled to walk.  He continued supporting them when he was forced to use a scooter.

He is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Peggy.  Sons, Kevin Werner of Toledo, OH and Matthew (Jessica) Werner of Petersburg, MI.  Mother, Eileen Werner of Angola, IN.  Brother, Joel (Peggy) Werner of Angola, IN and grandson, Maxton Werner.  He was preceded in death by his father.

Visitation will be from 2-7 pm Wednesday at the Michael W. Pawlak Funeral Home, 1640 Smith Rd. (at Jackman) Temperance, MI, where funeral services will follow at 7:00 pm.  Reverend Bruce Lucas, officiating. Memorials may be made to Promedica Hospice. www.pawlakfuneralhome.com
